Benjamin Richter – Prints
Print art does not represent a copy of painting; it has to
be considered as a language of its own. I got introduced to
it more than thirty years ago, mainly with Giorgio Upiglio
in Milan, with whom I am still working and who is
still printing my works.
Hundreds of
etchings,
aquatints,
dry-points,
vernis mous,
(on copper, zinc or brass plates),
as well as a number of lithographs,
have been completed during this period;
small and large prints; no bigger ones than
could be kept in a portfolio the larger size of
which is 120 cm.
All plates are exclusively executed by the artist
himself, the essay prints up to the "Bon à tirer",
with some exceptions, too.
The number of copies is normally rather small.
